Hey y’all,

Well, 2012 is in full swing and I’m loving it.

As many of you know, I’ve been helping a non profit organization called “People for Animals” and we have raised $7,000.00 so far thanks to all the great fans out there.

Have a new sponsor (Welch Guitars) and I’m happy to play such great guitars!

Speaking of my guitars, mark your calender for May 5th cause were fixin’ to have another Cinco De Mayo blowout this year! I’ll be headlining this event and leading the toast again in our effort to set the Guinness World Record for the worlds largest Tequila toast! We are shootin for 3,000 people this year and you don’t want t miss it so stay tuned for all the details here and on my Facebook fan page.

On a personal note, I’m still 15 pounds overweight and can’t seem to pull away from the table so uhm…yeah.
If you follow me on Facebook you probably know that my wife and I have a puppy named El Guapo and I’m pleased to say he now has a little sister (and I mean little, 1 pound 9oz) named “Blanca.” If you’re on my Facebook pages then I’m sure you have seen her; she runs things already.

I’ll be announcing some new shows soon and hopefully I’ll get back out on the road and play wherever radio is spinnin’ my new single. That’s about it for now, look forward to seeing you out there.

Frank Teams With Heidi Newfield to “Sponsor an Angel”

The Sponsor an Angel concert at The Castle Theatre was a huge success. Frank and Heidi auctioned off a custom Dos Equis guitar, which brought in $2000 toward fundraising efforts for Victory Junction Gang Camp for terminally ill and disabled children. Thanks to all who participated, and to Dos Equis for sponsorship and providing the custom guitar!

It’s CMAfest time! For those of you that are not aware , CMA fest is
the gathering of country music fans (tens of thousands) from all over
the country and the world ending up right here in Nashville. Most
every country artist you can imagine is present to perform and meet up
with the fans during this event and happy to be a part of it. This
year it is on June 9th,10th,11th and 12th and it’s a hot one people.
When I speak to fellow artists about CMAfest the one thing that comes
up all the time is the fact that our fans are running around in the
sweltering heat, standing in lines, etc in support of their favorite
artists and that is just one reason why country music fans are the
best fans in the world…they are loyal.
Last year I met folks that have written me from different parts of the
world, and to have them standing right in front of me knowing they have
come from places like Germany and France to be part of this great
event is a humbling experience.

Each year it gets a little bigger for
me and this year is no exception, I’ll be performing about 5 or 6
shows and this year I get to perform on a CMA stage as well. I look
forward to meeting so many new people from all over our great country
and the world while sharing my music as well. I’m gonna tear it up
this year with my band and meet as many new fans as I can. Stay tuned
for all the info on where and when I’ll be appearing during CMA fest
this year.

Frank’s album is coming!

It’s almost done! I’ve been threatening that an album is coming for awhile now and its getting to be about that time. Were droppin’ a six song album and calling it a “six pack”..there will be a special surprise bonus song on this album making it seven in total. I’ll announce the name of the album right before we release it. The price will be around the $7.00 mark and I say you pick up one or ten! It will be available on iTunes and all the usual suspects online as well as some other places that we will announce at the right time. I love the songs on this record and hope that you will too..I’ll keep you posted as to when the first single goes to radio and the exact release date of this record.

If you want to be one of the first to know what’s going on with me, you can text the word “ortega” to 99000 and when there is something worth letting you know…you will hear it first!
